Preparation
- You do not need to fast.
- You may need to stop taking beta-blockers 2–3 days before the test, as discussed with your doctor.
- You can drive a vehicle as usual after the test.
Procedure
The test is performed in the functional measurements unit for cardiovascular diseases (functiemetingen hart- en vaatziekten) or at the IRCC.
- Placement of an IV to administer the medication.
- Setup of ECG monitoring.
- Administration of the medication over 20 minutes, with 3-minute intervals.
- The doctor monitors the evolution of the QT interval on the ECG and checks for arrhythmias.
After the test, you'll have to wait for another 30 minutes in the waiting area before going home.
