Instructions for patient transport by ambulance

Guidelines for ambulances bringing patients to the Emergency Department.

Urgent patient transport

If you are arriving from the E314, exit 16 (Gasthuisberg), do not follow the diversion but continue straight ahead to the barrier. Open the barrier with your badge and follow the signs to the Emergency Department entrance.

If you are coming from the Leuven ring road and the Het Teken roundabout, follow the signs to the Emergency Department entrance.

  • Drive into the white building.
  • Follow the green signs to the Emergency Department hall and drive through the large gate.

In the hall, you may temporarily park your vehicle in the designated areas to safely bring the patient to the emergency department.

Scheduled patient transport

If you are arriving from the E314, exit 16 (Gasthuisberg), follow the diversion and then continue following the signs to the Emergency Department entrance.

If you are coming from the Leuven ring road and the Het Teken roundabout, follow the signs to the Emergency Department entrance.

  • Drive into the white building.
  • Follow the signs for the "scheduled patient transport area."
  • The reception is on the right in the underground parking structure.

Reception hours for secondary transport

  • Daily from 07:00 to 22:00
  • Weekends from 07:00 to 20:00

Outside these hours: via the Emergency Department.
