Requests for proton therapy have to go through a referring radiation-oncologist. You haven't got a referral? Please make an appointment with your own radiation-oncologist or with one of the radiation-oncologists specialised in proton therapy working at PARTICLE.

Interuniversity proton therapy centre PARTICLE celebrates its fifth anniversary in Leuven

The Belgian proton therapy centre PARTICLE celebrates its fifth anniversary. To celebrate this, UZ Leuven is bringing together healthcare experts, policymakers and international specialists on Friday 27 June to look back on five years of pioneering work and to look ahead to the future of proton therapy in our country.

First patient with oesophageal cancer treated with proton therapy

At the end of November, it was the first time a patient with oesophageal cancer was treated in Belgium. This was done in the Leuven proton therapy centre PARTICLE, as part of the first European phase 3 study on the potential benefits of proton irradiation in that type of cancer.
