In April 2020, a month into the country's first lockdown, the young patients in the UZ Leuven children's hospital turned into real artists. Together with the play coordination team, the Fonds Kunst voor het Kinderziekenhuis launched the #kunstuitmijnkamer project.

Children and youngsters were given the chance to express their feelings, thoughts and imagination during corona times freely on a canvas. No less than 125 creative  children produced a unique canvas. As a whole, they form an inspiring collection of various subjects, colours and techniques. Patients, visitors and employees can now admire these attractive creations in the children's hospital.

The young room artists should be applauded for their courage and perseverance the past year and deserve our thanks for the beautiful artwork they have donated to the hospital. They're all signs of resilience and hope in these difficult times.

Patients, visitors and employees can now all admire the artwork in the children's hospital. The exhibition is located in the corridor from the reception hall to the lifts. Remember to scan the QR codes next to the artists' names to learn a bit about them.
