Patient panel

The patients’ panel at UZ Leuven consists of a permanent group of patients and their relatives who meet four times a year to actively consider how care and services can be further improved.

What and whom?

The patient panel at UZ Leuven is made up of patients and their relatives who want to actively help improve hospital care and services. Each year, they meet four times to offer their advice and input on various initiatives, projects, themes, and questions that arise within the hospital.

The members of the patients’ panel volunteered following a broad call in autumn 2022.

What gets discussed?

The concrete topics discussed come both from the patient panel itself and from UZ Leuven staff members. This way, we learn what matters to our patients and their relatives, and any UZ Leuven staff member or team can also seek feedback on a question or project.

After each meeting, a report is drawn up and provided to both the patients’ panel members and the speakers who introduced a topic. A concise version of these reports is also made available to all staff members.
