For relatives of hospitalised patients

The family residence at Gasthuisberg Campus offers a place to stay in the hospital to parents of hospitalised children (up to 18 years of age) for whom rooming in is not possible in their child's room.

Rooms at 3 locations

The family residence includes:

  • 3 single rooms in Gele straat, poort 2, niveau 7c.
  • 2 rooms in Rode straat, poort 4, niveau 5, ascension point 1.
  • 2 rooms in neonatology, Groene straat, poort 7, niveau 2.

Rates

Parents staying overnight in the family residence pay the same rooming-in rate as on the ward.

No lunch or dinner can be ordered here, although this is possible for rooming in on paediatric wards.

Breakfast

If you pay for a breakfast voucher, you can spend it at visitors' restaurant De Vier.

Social rate

Would you like to check whether you are eligible for the social rate? If so, contact the social worker at the ward where your loved one is admitted.

Payment

You pay the entire sum of the reserved stay via bancontact on arrival.

How to book

Reservations can only be made from the day of admission. To do this, speak to a nurse or social worker from the ward where your child is admitted. They will help you with your reservation.

Registering and signing in

You can only register and collect the key when a volunteer is present in the family residence:

  • Monday to Friday: from 11:00 to 12:00 and from 18:00 to 19:30.
  • Weekends and holidays: from 06:00 to 19:30.

The volunteers have their office in Gele straat, poort 2, niveau 7c. There is also a small relaxation area here where you can have coffee, tea or water.
