The choice of individual rooms is motivated by a developmentally supportive and family-oriented care concept. Young and fragile newborns benefit from being cared for in a quiet and comfortable environment.
We also hope that the peace and privacy offered by the room invites you to spend a lot of time with your baby to strengthen your bond.
Ambient lighting helps create a sense of calm in the rooms.
The rooms are spacious and quiet, so you can be with your baby in peace.
Access to the room and nursing staff
The ward is on level 3 and can be reached by walking to the Groene straat.
Parents and visitors have access to the baby's room via the outer circle, the nursing team via the inner circle.
When your baby is admitted, you will receive a personal badge that gives access to both your baby's room and the family lounge.
Location and accessibility
The rooms are arranged around a central nursing watch. This gives you maximum privacy, while allowing the nurses to keep a close eye on everything.
A second room door opens onto a separate corridor. Through this, you can enter and leave your child's room.
In the family lounge, close to the NICU, you can relax a bit, read, talk or watch television.
Hygiene
As newborn and premature babies are more prone to infections, we would like to stress the importance of strict hygiene. We therefore ask you to leave your coats in specially provided storage lockers near the family lounge.
When entering the corridor leading to your baby's room, a washbasin is provided. Before entering the room, please wash your hands and forearms thoroughly as prescribed.
