Psychological support on oncology

If you are being treated at UZ Leuven for an oncological problem, you can always call on a psychologist or sexologist. Besides physical complaints, an oncological problem also affects psychological wellbeing. The oncological course may be accompanied by, for example, anxiety symptoms, depressive feelings, relationship problems, sexual problems, adjustment problems, etc. An introductory interview can be requested by the patient themselves, a loved one or a healthcare provider.

In addition, an oncological problem also has an impact on the patient's immediate environment. Psychological counselling is therefore available for both the patient themselves and their relatives. These consultations are free of charge and can take place both during an admission and by appointment.
