What data does UZ Leuven need to provide you with the best care?

What personal data does UZ Leuven collect in the context of patient care, operation of UZ Leuven, quality of care, patient registration or scientific research?

UZ Leuven needs your identification data (including name, date of birth, national registration number, etc.) as well as data about your health in the context of your care (including visual material).

In addition, UZ Leuven also processes financial and administrative data, for example to organise your admission and invoice you afterwards. We also collect data about your social situation when this is relevant. Sometimes the legislator also obliges UZ Leuven to collect, keep or otherwise process certain other data, such as judicial data.

Under no circumstances will more personal data be collected than what is necessary for the purposes listed here. We therefore adhere to the "need-to-know, not nice-to-know" principle. Your personal data will not be processed in a manner inconsistent with the listed purposes.
