Are you coming for a follow-up appointment?
Preparation at home
At home, prepare a list of necessary prescriptions and certificates, and provide your medication list to the transplant nurse.
Also, fill out your diary and bring it with you to the day room, along with the medication you normally take on the morning of your appointment.
At home on the morning of your appointment
- You may eat breakfast. Fasting is not necessary unless previously agreed.
- Do not take any medication.
- If you have a sensitive stomach, bring a small snack to eat with your medication after your blood test.
Registration at the hospital
- Before going to the day room, you must register at the desk in the main entrance hall.
- The order in which patients are called at the day room is based on the time of registration, not the time of arrival in the waiting room.
At the day room
- Wait to take your medication until after your blood test.
- A transplant nurse will call you to check your parameters (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, blood oxygen saturation, and weight), discuss any complaints or issues, and review your diary.
- At each visit, a blood sample and a urine sample will be taken.
- Two tests are always performed: a chest X-ray and a lung function test.
- Routine tests are scheduled at fixed intervals after transplantation.
- The results of the tests will be reviewed by the transplant doctor.
- You will be called up in the same order as for the nursing consultation. The doctor will discuss the results with you and schedule your next appointment.
- After that, you can go home.
