DONEO breast milk donor bank

The breast milk bank collects milk from healthy mothers who produce more than their own baby needs. This donor milk is thoroughly screened, pasteurised and then distributed to premature or seriously ill babies who cannot receive any or enough of their own mother’s breast milk.

The goal is to provide these particularly vulnerable babies with the best possible nutrition, which is essential for their growth and recovery.

Receiving donor breast milk

UZ Leuven and CHU Luik to become external breast milk bank

Belgium is getting two external breast milk banks: one at UZ Leuven and one at CHU Luik. These donor banks will not only help premature babies on their way in their own hospital, but also to provide other hospitals in Flanders and Wallonia with breast milk in future.
