Cleaning the pump kit
- Disassemble the kit.
- Rinse the pump parts immediately after use with cold water to remove milk residue.
- Clean thoroughly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
- Rinse well under running water.
Sterilising
- With water: place the pump parts in a pot of water and boil for 5 minutes. Make sure all parts remain fully submerged.
- Using a steriliser: use an electric steam steriliser or microwave steriliser according to the instructions.
After sterilising, remove the parts from the pot or steriliser using clean tongs or clean hands. Be careful not to burn yourself.
Drying and storage
- Place the parts upside down on a clean surface (e.g. a muslin cloth).
- Cover them with a clean cloth.
- Let them air-dry completely before storing.
- Assemble all parts and store them in a clean location (such as a dedicated storage box for your pump kit).
