Palliative care and end-of-life decisions
At the infodesk, trained volunteers assist you with any questions about palliative care and decisions related to serious illness or end-of-life situations.
- What is palliative home care?
- How is palliative care provided in a ward?
- What options are available for patients to stop or refuse treatment?
- Why and how should you prepare an advance directive?
- What is palliative sedation?
- Euthanasia requests: What options are there?
Role of volunteers
The volunteers are trained by the Palliative Support Team (PST) to provide information about palliative care and advance care planning. You can ask them your questions anonymously and without obligation.
The volunteers do not have access to your medical record or that of your loved ones and do not take over the role of healthcare providers. However, they can provide brochures on various palliative care topics.
Do you have questions about palliative care specifically related to your own treatment or that of a loved one? Please contact the medical team treating you. If necessary, they can consult the PST.
