DAC Seminar 28/02/2025
You are warmly welcome to a seminar dedicated to the role of a Data Access Committee (DAC) on 28 February 2025 at 12:00 in GA0. The seminar will be held in English.
One of the founders of the UZ/KU Leuven DAC, prof. Joris Vermeesch will give a short history of DAC KU Leuven, followed by our keynote speaker, professor Mahsa Shabani (UvA) who will talk about “Managing responsible access to genomic data in the view of GDPR and EHDS”.
Ruth Storme and Kaat Van huyck will describe the DAC organisation in UZ/KU Leuven, and René Custers discusses its organisation at VIB.
Katleen Janssen (Legal Department LRD) will explain the present knowledge security issues, and we conclude with some Q&A.
We hope to conclude the seminar between 15.00 and 15.30.

Register a clinical study
Any study you submit to EC Research must be notified using the registration form below. Only UMN and the recognition of a Biobank should not be registered in the form. Through this form, your submission will reach the appropriate service (CTC, EC Research, Biobank). Your study may no longer require validation from the clinical trial centre (CTC), e.g. case report and retrospective study where there is no third-party involvement. Please ensure that you only submit your study once via this registration form.
Note:
- If your study was submitted via the registration form, has already been validated by the CTC/Biobank, and you therefore already have an S-number, you should not resubmit the study through the registration form. In that case, you should submit the study to the EC Research using the other form available via this link.
- If you already have an S-number but your type of study is not listed in the form via the link above, you should submit your application to the EC via email (ec@uzleuven.be), mentioning the S-number.
