Visitors to UZ Leuven - Privacy

When you come to UZ Leuven as a visitor, as a service provider, as a participant in an activity, or other, we may process personal data about you. We regulate the processing of data of external stakeholders in a separate privacy regulation, which you can find here.

Summary of privacy regulations

The 'Privacy regulations for processing data of external data subjects' apply to the processing of personal data of persons who come into direct contact with UZ Leuven. These include patient visitors, professional visitors, service providers, participants in conferences, study days, training courses and (public) events within UZ Leuven or other professional visitors, recipients of (e-)newsletters and job applicants.

We usually process data when you use the car park or wifi network, for example. We also use surveillance cameras, for example, and fixed cameras on certain wards for care purposes. We also process certain data about you when you visit our website or use access codes to specific departments. Depending on the capacity in which you come into contact with UZ Leuven, your data may also be processed for other reasons. Which data we process therefore depends on the capacity in which you come to UZ Leuven and the services or systems you use.

In addition to these regulations, separate regulations apply to patients and study participants.
The way UZ Leuven handles its employees' data is described in a separate policy statement. Employees can consult this policy statement via the intranet.
