Breaking grounds as medical staff member

As Belgium’s largest university hospital, UZ Leuven pushes boundaries by combining specialised care and innovative treatment with humane attention and respect for every patient. With 450.000 examinations a year and 46 radiologists, the radiology department is one of the largest departments in the hospital, with a large diversity of medical pathology and a key role in multidisciplinary consultation. The department is equipped with an unique infrastructure with advanced machines, such as 3T MR and photon-counting CT.

Following the expansion of the department, we are looking for a colleague with specific interest in thoracic radiology. The starting date for this vacancy is an indication and can be adjusted if needed.

How will you break grounds?

  • Together with your colleagues at the thoracic radiology department, you will handle daily clinical activities (X-ray, CT, and MRI), including multidisciplinary meetings and CT-guided biopsies.
  • You will supervise the radiology residents in training, contributing to the training of the next generation of radiologists.
  • An ambition to participated in scientific research is an asset, but not a strict requirement.

What do you need?

  • You must be certified as a radiologist and have demonstrable affinity with thoracic radiology.
  • You speak Dutch or are willing to learn Dutch in the short term.

What do you get in return?

  • An interesting and diverse work environment with pathologies in different thoracic subspecialties (e.g. related to oncology, interstitial lung diseases, and transplantation). There are opportunities for further specialisation in one or more of these subspecialties.
  • • Unique opportunities for further professional and scientific development within UZ Leuven, with participation in various (inter)national conferences and symposia.
  • • A good personnel status with numerous fringe benefits, good and excellent social provisions.
  • • Great colleagues and a pleasant working atmosphere. Regular teambuilding activities are organised across the disciplines.
